  • From no muscles to shredded body! How difficult it was to get back on track, or the previous workout experience made that road easier?

    • My previous workout experience definitely made my comeback to gaining muscle and getting shredded easier than if I had just started out. I was able to make gains quicker because of my muscle memory, and because I knew how to lift properly from my past instead of having to learn everything as if you are just starting out.

  • What is your approach as a personal training instructor? How do you work with your clients? Do you give them the breathing space or you push them to go harder every single day? What separates Mr. Woodson programs from the others?

    • It will all depend on the client. I have clients that range from young to older, male and females, some will have more limitations then others, so I have to learn their capabilities and then push them past those boundaries a little each time I train them. Everything is logged when I train my clients, from the exercise, the weight used, the reps lifted, the number of sets performed. Doing this allows me to know how much farther I can try to push them compared to the last session for that particular exercise. This way they are always progressing. My clients love me logging their workouts so they can see the improvements they’ve made throughout the weeks and months.

  • Proper diet and nutrition boosted with the right supplements its one huge piece of the big fitness puzzle. And from my point of view it is not just that simple to eat the right food and to get the right supplements. We need to know exactly when and how. Can you give us more details how our diet plan should look throughout the day, and also when and what supplements we need to take?

    • Proper diet that is planned towards your specific goal is critical. Nutrition is key to obtaining the physique you want. If you don’t know how to track your food, weigh out your food portions and calculate what macros you take in daily, you will be just spinning your wheels and will probably never reach the physique you really want. What I do for my clients is plan their meals throughout their day depending on their work and daily schedule, and what time of the day they train. Some train in the mornings, some in the evenings, some early in the mornings, and some work into the night, so every meal plan will be different depending on the person’s schedule. A basic principle is to eat majority of your carbohydrates earlier in the day, and also pre and post workout. Also eat more frequently throughout the day, every 2-3 hours to maintain more balanced blood sugar levels, curb hunger, and keep metabolism firing often.
As for supplements, the only ones I suggest that are needed by most busy people are a good multi vitamin, fish oils, and a protein powder if they can’t get enough protein in their normal diet through their whole foods meals. You can take other supplements, but they are not a necessity.

  • I’m sure that Mr. Woodson can give to our readers, few good words of advice and how to maintain our mind set, as being a person with great experience and seeing the life from different angles!

    • My advice to obtaining your desired physique and overall good health is to work on getting rid of old unhealthy habits and start working on developing good healthy habits. Start with getting rid of one bad habit and starting one good habit for one week, then remove one another bad habit and add another good one, and so on, until you have a number of good habits that will start to shape your new healthier lifestyle. Be consistent in your actions and your day to day choices of foods you eat and training you do. Consistency will be a key component to your progress and success. The more you can consistently do the good things, the quicker you will achieve your desired results. Also, try to keep things simple. Don’t over complicate things. Don’t give up or give in, early on in the process. Be patient, as results take time, usually longer than we would like.
