Royal Puff Pastry from my GranD Grandma cook book

When I was a little girl I loved when my grand grandma was around the kitchen. That old woman knew so much about it and was spreading her magic around. I called this dish the Royal Puff Pastry for a reason It really bring the crown feeling, while enjoying every single bite of it. It’s about a recipe that can be breakfast, lunch, dinner and appetizers! Easy, tasty and delicious so you do not want to stop! This magic dish is taken from her old cook book.

Ingredients that we need:

– Puff pastry – if you don’t know how to make one, do it the easy way, go and buy one
– Chorizo sausage
– Gouda cheese
– Onion – medium size
– And 3 cloves of garlic
– Butter


And it goes like this

Danish Blue

Chop one onion (medium size), 3 cloves of garlic, 7 oz. Chorizo sausage. Put them in the pan and fry them on butter.
If you are too lazy to make homemade puff pastry, or you don’t know how to make one – go and buy yourself around 10 oz., extend it with a rolling pin and divide it into two parts. Spread thin slices of Gouda cheese on the top of one half of the pastry, then add the mixture from the pan and again on top of that put thin slices of the cheese. Here comes the “Royal” part. For much more rich flavor also put some Danish blue cheese and pinch of oregano. Cover it with the other part that left of the pastry and close it to look as calzone pizza. With a sharp knife cut lines on the top of it, but be careful not to pierce the dough.


Preheat the oven at 430 Fahrenheit, put the dough inside and leave it for 20 minutes. Turn the fan on for another 3 to 5 minutes with lowering the temperature to 400 Fahrenheit.


Let it cool for few minutes -if you can 🙂 it goes well with Greek yogurt and  Coke at least that is how I love it.
